Hi I’m Chelsie!

I’m a cinematographer and editor inspired by stories of the earth and how people are intricately connected to it. My work bridges science, conservation, and culture, shaped by years of fieldwork across the globe. I share stories that highlight human connections, environmental stewardship, and diverse communities protecting our shared planet.
Over the past several years, I’ve captured voices and environments in some of the world’s most remote corners, capturing themes of environmental stewardship, Indigenous knowledge, and human connection to place. From the Amazon rainforest, Pantanal, and Cerrado with River Road Films (“Shared Planet” for CBC, PBS, Arte) to Ghana’s coastal communities and the Great Bear Rainforest, working alongside renowned storytellers like Paul Nicklen and Cristina Mittermeier.
I’m based on the unceded territories of the xʷməθkʷəy̓əm (Musqueam), Sḵwx̱wú7mesh (Squamish), and səlilwətaɬ (Tsleil-Waututh) Nations. At home, I create impactful content for local clients and work on my own passion projects (CBC Short). Equally skilled behind the camera and in the edit suite, I offer full-spectrum visual storytelling from production through post.
A passionate advocate for equity, I’m a founding member of the Canadian Conservation Photographers Collective, a Girls Who Click Ambassador, and a member of the Wildlife Camerawomen Community. I believe visual storytelling is most powerful when diverse voices are heard and uplifted, and I proudly support projects that amplify those protecting our world.
I love exploring new places, paddling my feet on every beach I come across, eating all the food, and laughing my way through life (with some tunes blasting in the background).
